Freefalling Burton face battle to beat promotion chasing Bury

Published:

Bury can close the gap on Chesterfield at the top of League Two to seven points with a win at home to Burton Albion on Tuesday.

Chesterfield’s loss at the weekend leaves a glimmer of hope to Bury fans who are still chasing the title, but three points on Tuesday would consolidate their place in the automatic promotion spots in League Two.

Match Odds

Burton are in free fall and are level on points with second from bottom Barnet with two games in hand.

Having won just two away games all season, there’s no value in backing Burton at 9/2 who should be a lot longer considering they’ve taken just six points from a possible 27, and Burton fans would be quite happy taking a point from Gigg Lane.

The draw is priced at 3/1 but all the value is in backing Bury at 4/7 who, after a run of four games without a win, have won their last two on the bounce and have scored seven goals in those two games.

Total Goals

Ryan Lowe continues to be Bury’s outstanding player this season and currently tops the League Two goalscoring charts with 25.

Lowe is 7/2 to score the first goal and will be desperate to get on the scoresheet after failing to do so in Bury’s 3-1 win at Burton’s Pirelli Stadium earlier in the season, and his side can register three goals once again and are 9/1 to win 3-0.

Bury are unbeaten against Burton in all of the three ties these two teams have contested, and against the team with the worst away record in the division, an upset is hard to fathom.

A £10 stake on Bury beating Burton 3-0 would return £100. New customers can sign up here to claim a £30 free bet.
