Dutch pair to suffer away day blues in Europa League

Villarreal’s strong home record in Europe under the management of Juan Carlos Garrido should enable them to secure a slender advantage from the first leg of the Europa League quarter final tie with FC Twente.

Garrido has guided Villarreal to six successive European victories at El Madrigal and it is 8/13 that this run is extended with a win over the current Dutch league leaders.

Villarreal also have the current Europa League top scorer in their ranks in Giuseppe Rossi and he is 7/2 to strike first, which would be his ninth goal in this season’s competition.

Twente are no slouches and they are 9/2 to win in Villarreal, while it is 11/4 that they leave Spain with a useful draw.

However, the best bet favouring Twente may be the 7/4 that they qualify for the semi finals of the Europa League over the two legs.

Elsewhere in the Europa League, Twente’s fellow Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven are in action and they are also drawn away first in their tie with Portuguese giants Benfica.

Benfica are the favourites in the Europa League odds at 4/6 to pick up victory and this seems fair enough given that they have lost just one of their last 12 European fixtures at home.

Meanwhile, they are also unbeaten in their last four games in the competition.

But PSV should not be ruled out as they seemed to have taken a liking to hitting teams on the counter attack in the Europa League.

PSV are dangerous on their travels and have avoided defeat in their last five European encounters on the road, winning on four of these occasions.

It is 9/2 that PSV beat Benfica and 5/2 that the game ends all square.

A £20 stake on the Dutch double of PSV and Twente both winning their Europa League away games would return £605. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of free bets totalling up to £60.
