Binocular and Peddlers Cross head stunning Aintree National card

Aintree’s Saturday card was released today and it makes for great reading for punters.

Six races – including the popular 2011 John Smiths Grand National – line the card and the likes of Cue Card, Rock On Ruby, Binocular, Peddlers Cross and Carole’s Legacy will grace Aintree racecourse with their presence.

New customers to Ladbrokes.com are eligible for three free Grand National bet by signing up here and with so many great races at Aintree on Saturday, those three free bets can go a long way.

While the spectacle of the day is the Grand National, the race of the day could well be the Aintree Hurdle in which Binocular will return to the track after missing out on defending his Champion Hurdle title at Cheltenham.

Peddlers Cross and Oscar Whisky finished second and third respectively in the Champion Hurdle, and after Peddlers Cross defeated Binocular at Newbury earlier in the season, fans of National Hunt racing are awaiting this race with bated breath.

There’s unlikely to be much separating Peddlers Cross and Binocular in the Aintree Hurdle betting, and with both of them having won on their only start around Aintree, it’s shaping up to be a real classic.

Oscar Whisky finished five lengths behind Peddlers Cross in the Champion Hurdle and has ground to make up on his rivals, but the Nicky Henderson-trained six-year-old will find himself third in the betting and may offer plenty of each-way value.

Paul Nicholls confirmed Celestial Halo will run in the Aintree Hurdle but his Aintree form isn’t the greatest and horses such as Overturn and Khyber Kim will probably offer more value.

With the Cheltenham Festival a distant memory, Aintree’s Grand National meeting offers punters another chance to witness some of the greatest horses in National Hunt training.

A £20 stake The Midnight Club winning the Grand National would return £180. New customers can sign up here to get £60 in free bets.
