33 scratched as Frankel continues to dominate the Guineas betting

It’s all change in the 2000 Guineas betting today after 33 runners were scratched from the race card at the latest entry stage.

Zoffany (was 20/1 to win the Guineas) and Strong Suit (was 33/1) are the major withdrawals but their absence hasn’t affected the top of the 2000 Guineas betting market.

Frankel is obviously the horse to beat as he heads the 2000 Guineas betting at 1/2, and his job has been made easier by the withdrawals of Dubai Prince, Wooten Bassett, Glor Na Mara and Peter Martins.

There has been no movement in the 2000 Guineas odds following the withdrawal of the 33 runners, but the ante-post Guineas betting has been made easier for punters now the field has been reduced to 19 runners.

With just 10 days until the opening Classic meeting of the year at Newmarket, the line-up for the 2000 Guineas betting looks like this:

Frankel (1/2), Pathfork (6/1), Roderic O’Connor (6/1), Native Khan (12/1), Fury (16/1), Dream Ahead (20/1), Casamento (20/1), Saamidd (33/1), Master Of Hounds (33/1), Dubawi Gold (40/1) Alexander Pope (50/1) Broox (50/1), Ecliptic (50/1), Loving Spirit (50/1), Rerouted (50/1), Happy Today (66/1), Neebras (100/1) and Slim Shady (100/1).

Henry Cecil has just the one runner in Frankel while Aiden O’Brien boasts three entries with Alexander Pope, Master Of Hounds and Roderic O’Connor and Godolphin have four horses in Casamento, Saamid, Neebras and Ecliptic.

Frankel proved his form in last Saturday’s Greenham Stakes at Newbury when winning by four lengths and not only is Henry Cecil’s three-year-old favourite in the Guineas betting, but he is also the 4/1 favourite to win the Derby.

A £10 stake on Roderic O’Connor winning the 2000 Guineas would return £70. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of a free horse racing bet worth up to £30.
