Valencia 11/8 to react to Champions League exit with win

It was a mixed week for those that argue that there’s little quality outside the top two in Spain, as while Villarreal won at Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League, Valencia exited the Champions League to Schalke.

Unai Emery’s side, clear frontrunners to be “best of the rest” in La Liga given their four-point lead over Villarreal in third, are available at 11/8 to bounce back away to Real Zaragoza at 9pm on Sky Sports 3 tonight.

It’s a monster price when you consider both Valencia’s fine domestic form, with nine wins and just one loss to show for their last dozen league games, and Zaragoza’s poor record against the division’s finest.

The relegation battlers have taken just only four points from a possible 33 against the top eight, losing six of their seven such encounters at La Romareda.

Zaragoza are rarely thrashed though and five of Valencia’s eight travelling triumphs have ended 2-1 so 7/1 is a tempting price on that again being the scoreline.

Two hours earlier, Real Madrid are in action with a huge opportunity to close the advantage Barcelona boast at the top to four points ahead of the champions’ tricky Sunday night trip to Sevilla when they host Hercules.

The newcomers were victorious at the Camp Nou in their first away match after promotion but are unlikely to complete an incredible double having failed to win on the road since, or even net on their last ten away days.

Real Madrid are a generous 5/6 to win to nil, however despite scoring ten times in their last two games, this is unlikely to be a rout as Hercules are one of three clubs yet to concede more than three in a match.

Jose Mourinho’s team firing two or three is therefore appetisingly priced at 11/10, as is the in-form Karim Benzema to strike first at 2/1, provided he isn’t rested with the Champions League clash with old employers Lyon in mind.

A £25 double on Real Madrid winning to nil and Valencia triumphing would provide a £83.75 profit. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
