Torres targets Barcelona or Real Madrid in Champions League final

Fernando Torres is already looking ahead to the Champions League final despite the tournament still being at the quarter-final stage and is hoping that Chelsea meet either Barcelona or Real Madrid at Wembley.

Chelsea are currently 11/2 in the Champions League betting but to reach Wembley they first have to beat Manchester United over two legs and then either last year’s winners Inter Milan or surprise Germans Schalke in the last four.

However, Torres is optimistic that Chelsea can squeeze by their Premier League rivals in the next round and then fancies beating one of the giants from his homeland on May 28th.

Torres told Madrid based Spanish newspaper AS: “I would love to play in the European Cup final, with Chelsea, against a Spanish side.

“I think it depends on whether or not we get past Manchester United in the quarter-finals, which is 50-50.”

Ladbrokes agree that the quarter final will be tight and both Manchester United’s and Chelsea’s betting odds are 5/6 to qualify for the semi-finals.

Being from Madrid, it is 7/1 that Torres gets his wish and Chelsea face Real Madrid in the Champions League final, while odds of 7/2 are available that Chelsea and Barcelona are the two teams to qualify for the final.

Meanwhile, Torres has not really hit the ground running since signing for Chelsea for £50m, but the fact he is still waiting for a first goal will quickly be forgotten if he finds the net in the Champions League final.

Torres’ odds are 16/1 to score the first goal at Wembley regardless of the opposition.

A £20 stake on Chelsea facing Real Madrid in the Champions League final would return £140. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of free bets totalling up to £60.
