This is the weekend to oppose Chesterfield in the betting

We’ve been big advocates of backing Chesterfield at huge odds in the past fortnight, and while the League Two leaders are a big price away to Crewe Alexandra this weekend, they’re in for a difficult ride.

Earlier in the season the two sides shared an incredible 5-5 draw and backing a repeat of the draw at 12/5 looks the best bet.

Chesterfield have won two of their last four games at Crewe’s Gresty Road and are 7/5 to beat Crewe, but the other two games were draws and Crewe have won three of their last five games at Chesterfield’s B2net stadium.

Chesterfield have been involved in just one goalless draw this season and with both teams boasting strikers on 18 and 19 league goals this season, the game promises goals.

A 2-2 draw is available at 14/1 while Crewe’s Clayton Donaldson is 11/2 to get the first goal.

Jack Lester has played a supporting role to Craig Davies up front for Chesterfield this season, but his two goals in the 5-5 draw suggest he’s the better bet at 5/1 to get the first goal.

Rotherham vs Bury

Bury are the form side in League Two and can enhance their promotion credentials with a win which would seriously dent Rotherham’s hopes of an automatic promotion place.

At 17/10 Bury are a huge price to win considering they are on a four-match winning streak and while Rotherham continue to stutter in the league, the Shakers can take full advantage.

Ties between the two teams are always tight and punters should be weary of the draw – available at 12/5 – but in a game where a single goal is likely to separate the two teams, backing a Bury 2-1 win at 9/1 looks the best option.

But backing over 2.5 goals at 21/20 looks the pick of the market.

A £25 double on both games ending in a draw would return £289. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
