Spurs 40/1 to beat Barcelona in Champions League final

With Tottenham currently leading the English charge in this season’s Champions League, Ladbrokes has come up with a specials betting market relating to their progress in the competition.

As things stand, Tottenham are the only Premier League team guaranteed to be in the last eight, although Chelsea and Manchester United will fancy their chances of joining them after the second legs of their second-round showdowns with Copenhagen and Marseille respectively.

It is 5/2 in the Champions League betting that Spurs face a fellow Premier League team in the quarter finals, but this seems worth avoiding, especially bearing in mind that there is still the possibility of at least one of Chelsea or Manchester United not reaching this stage.

Barcelona are the team that everyone will want to avoid in the Champions League draw, but Spurs striker Peter Crouch believes that his team can beat them.

It is 6/1 that Spurs quickly get the chance to prove this by drawing them in the quarter finals of the competition.

However confident that Spurs and in particular Crouch may be, perhaps the best chance of beating Barcelona will come in a one-off final rather than over two legs.

Spurs’ betting odds are 10/1 to win the Champions League, while it is 40/1 that Barcelona are their victims in the final, which is being played on English soil this year at Wembley, potentially giving them an added advantage.

The other match special is that Tottenham complete most of the hard work to reach the Champions League final, but then taste defeat.

It is 7/2 that Tottenham are eliminated in the final of the Champions League, regardless of who the other finalists are.

Champions League betting odds of 7/4 are available that any of Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester United win this season’s competition.

A £25 stake on Spurs winning the Champions League would return £250. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
