Serbia vs N. Ireland – Unbeaten Irish can shock empty stadium
Published:Northern Ireland remain unbeaten in Group C and they face off with Serbia in Belgrade tonight in what will be an empty Stadion Crvena Zvezda.
Serbian fans have been barred for tonight’s game because of the part they played in the abandonment of the Italy and Serbia match in October 2010, and Northern Ireland can use that to their advantage as they look to cause an upset.

At 6/1 to beat Serbia the odds suggest a Northern Ireland win are slim, but despite a poor result in Dublin against Scotland in February, the Irish are unbeaten in their last two away games and with Nigel Worthington making controversial changes, the 3/1 for the draw looks the best bet.
Worthington has adapted the policy of out with the old, in with the new and with a load of youngsters looking to prove themselves at international level in what will be an easy atmosphere, Northern Ireland fans have cause for optimism.
Serbia will be without Nemanja Vidic and Nikola Zigic and considering the side lay second from bottom in Group C, backing Vladimir Petrovic’s Serbia at 1/2 holds little value.

One thing that you can guarantee is that there will be very little for the 240 Northern Ireland fans that fill the stadium to cheer, and backing under 2.5 goals at 4/6 seems a steal.
None of Northern Ireland’s last eight games have produced over 2.5 goals and just three of Serbia’s last 10 games (Italy result not included) have done the same.
