Serb the subject of a strong gamble after stunning Nadal

2011 is most definitely Novak Djokovic’s year after the Serb stretched his unbeaten run to 20 matches following victories over both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal en route to his third title of the year.

That leaves the world number two still unbeaten in 2011 and Djokovic is the subject of plenty of support in the Grand Slam betting.

It’s nine weeks until the start of the second Grand Slam of the season and Djokovic finds himself priced at 4/1 second favourite behind Rafael Nadal who is 4/11 and searching for his sixth French Open title.

Nadal’s dominance on clay means he will be very tough to beat and the support for Djokovic in the Wimbledon betting and the US Open betting is more significant.

With all the hype that follows Andy Murray around when it comes to Wimbledon, the odds on the Scot winning the tournament are always a lot shorter than they should be, and Djokovic, who is priced the same as Murray at 5/1 offers all the value in the betting.

Djokovic finds himself joint 7/2 second favourite in the US Open betting alongside Roger Federer and the Serb relishes the hard courts of Flushing Meadows and that is his strongest chance of claiming a second Grand Slam title this year.

The world‘s best head to Miami for the Sony Ericsson Open this week and considering the form Djokovic is in, it’s hard to bet against him making it four titles this year.

The Sony Ericsson Open odds will be up on Ladbrokes.com from Tuesday and they will make for interesting reading should Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer continue to find themselves ahead of Djokovic in the betting.

But one thing that is for certain, should Djokovic make it four in a row then those Grand Slam odds will be cut once again.

A £20 stake on Novak Djokovic winning the US Open would return £90. New customers can sign up here to claim up to £60 in free bets.
