Peterborough and MK Dons to enhance play-off credentials

Published:

Peterborough and MK Dons will both feel that they can enhance their play-off and even automatic promotion prospects with victories over clubs in the relegation places in the next round of League One fixtures.

MK Dons will be most confident of success as they have their game at home at Walsall and are 4/6 in the League One betting to triumph.

The Dons have surged into the play-off picture thanks to a seven-game unbeaten sequence, which includes five straight victories.

Meanwhile, Walsall have only won once in their last nine on the road, although they have shown improved form of late with just one defeat in their last six League One games.

Peterborough saw their winning streak ended by MK Dons in their latest game, but can be expected to return to winning ways at lowly Bristol Rovers.

Bristol Rovers have improved of late with two wins in three games since player-boss Stuart Campbell took over managerial duties, but they may struggle to cope with Peterborough’s attacking intent.

Posh are 10/11 to beat Bristol Rovers, with a victory seeing them move into the automatic promotion places in League One, at least for a day.

Bristol Rovers can be backed at 11/4 to end a run of five defeats in six league games at home by beating Peterborough, while the draw is available at 13/5.

Elsewhere, Rochdale have games in hand in League One and a winning run will see them mount a late assault on the play-off places.

They travel to Hartlepool next and are 21/10 to secure victory.

This may be a good price as Rochdale have won their last two league games, while Hartlepool are on a two-game losing streak.

Hartlepool have won two of their last three at home and are 5/4 to beat Rochdale.

A £20 stake on Peterborough beating Bristol Rovers 3-1 against New Zealand would return £280. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of free bets totalling up to £60.
