New managers to make no difference at Coventry

One win in 16 Championship games resulted in the end of Aidy Boothroyd’s tenure as Coventry manager, but it is unlikely that temporary bosses Steve Harrison and Andy Thorn will be able to improve upon this run at Burnley.

Burnley’s betting odds are 8/13 to beat Coventry and they will have every incentive to collect the three points as it will move them to within one point of the play-off places.

Meanwhile, they have already won on eight occasions since the turn of the year and beaten Coventry in three of the last five meetings between the two.

Coventry are 9/2 in the Championship betting to beat Burnley, but their record this season against teams currently in the top seven of the standings is not the best.

The Sky Blues have lost all barring one of the 13 matches this season against teams currently in the top seven.

Coventry’s dismal run has resulted in them quickly falling towards the relegation places and one match that will also have a bearing on the three teams that go down is taking place at Glanford Park.

Scunthorpe’s betting odds are 5/4 to beat Preston and a victory will take them one step closer to escaping the relegation places.

Preston are still waiting for their first win under Phil Brown and also their first success of 2011, but will be optimistic of beating the team that have lost the most games in the Championship this season.

It is 11/5 that Preston beat Scunthorpe.

The final mid-week Championship game pits Ipswich against Watford and both teams need to win if they are to have any chance of making a late surge towards the play-off places.

Ipswich are 11/10 to beat Watford, with the visitors 12/5 to land the spoils.

A £25 stake on the scorecast of Burnley beating Coventry 2-0 and Nathan Delfouneso scoring first would return £550. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
