Chesterfield to bounce back with win over Rotherham

Published:

A 2-0 defeat away to Crewe Alexandra in their last game has done nothing to dampen the expectations around Chesterfield this season.

The Spireites have been the model of consistency this term with only a run of five games without a win (four of them draws) in the new year hindering their progress. They are now ten points clear at the top of League Two and are looking good for automatic promotion.

They have won five of their last seven and are 1/1 to bounce back from their Crewe defeat with a win this Friday evening.

Meanwhile, Rotherham have slipped up somewhat in recent weeks and their goalless draw against Bury last Saturday means they have now not won in four attempts.

Despite their lofty position of fourth in the table, Rotherham’s form on the road this term leaves a lot to be desired. They have only the 15th best away record in the division and have won just once away from the Don Valley in their last nine attempts.

Chesterfield boast the best home record in the division. They’ve lost only three games at home in the league all season and Rotherham shouldn’t make that four.

The Millers look set to be without defenders Danny Coid and Nick Fenton, while Chesterfield have an almost full-strength squad to pick from.

Backing Chesterfield to win this clash at 1/1 looks very tempting.
