Cambridge set to sink the bookies?

Published:

Cambridge are the hot odds-on (8/13) favourites for the 157th Boat Race with Ladbrokes.

On the eve of the race the bookies have taken nearly five times as much money for Cambridge than their rivals Oxford leaving the firm fearing a light blue victory.

Despite earning odds of 100/1 the dead heat is also the subject of steady support meaning an Oxford victory is the only favourable result at this stage.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We hope the Oxford backers come out of the woodwork on the day of the race because a Cambridge victory will definitely sink us at the moment.”
