Wolves v Man Utd – Fergie’s men will ease past struggling Wolves

Published:

Manchester United’s quest for a 19th league title shows no sign of slowing down and Wolves should be their next victims this Saturday.

United were impressive in their 3-1 mid-week win over Aston Villa and, even more ominously for their rivals, Wayne Rooney seems to have found his form in front of goal.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side are quite rightly massive favourites in the Premier League betting at 2/5 to win at Molineux, but things could be tighter than first suspected.

In the Premier League era, these sides have faced each other eight times and only twice has more than one goal separated them after 90 minutes. However, with Nemanja Vidic in such brilliant form this season, it’s hard to see Wolves breaking United down, so backing a win to nil for the league leaders at 6/5 could be well worth a bet.

United’s away record is solid if unspectacular with nine of their last 16 away games ending in a draw. If you fancy Wolves to add to their draws, the scores to be level at the end of 90 minutes can be backed at 7/2.

And if you take advantage of a free £25 bet with Ladbrokes, you could stand to win £88 if the result comes in.

However, Wolves have won just one of their last 12 games against United – a 1-0 win at Molineux in 2004 – and you have to go back to 1980 to find the previous time Wolves came away victorious.

The safe bet is certainly backing United, but things can be made more interesting by putting some cash on United to come away as 2-0 winners at 6/1.

A £25 stake on Wayne Rooney scoring the first goal would return £63. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
