Tottenham v Bolton – bet on Spurs to get back on track

Harry Redknapp has admitted Tottenham Hotspur’s recent poor form means he has had temper the club’s ambitions for the season.

Just a few weeks ago there was talk that Spurs – who are currently 8/15 in the Premier League betting to beat Bolton – could challenge for the league, now Redknapp concedes a top four finish is a more realistic ambition.

He said: “For us to finish above Chelsea would be a real feat.

“They have spent about £70m in the transfer market. We have just got to keep going.”

“I would not write Chelsea off from winning the championship. Although Manchester United look as though they keep getting results, they are not playing as well as they have done in the past.”

Bolton have also had to temper their ambitions somewhat after going five league games without a win. However, that poor run was ended on Wednesday thanks to a 1-0 win against Wolves.

On-loan Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge scored for the Trotters in injury-time and he can be backed at 9/1 to be the first goalscorer at White Hart Lane.

However, Spurs have lost just one of their last 23 home games and haven’t so much as conceded a goal in their last three matches at the Lane.

Backing Spurs to win at 8/15 looks to be well worth a bet, while also sticking some cash on them to win to nil at 6/4 could also be worth backing.

A £25 stake on Rafael van der Vaart scoring the first goal would return £113. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
