Superb Barcelona set for win number 20 against Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid may be joint-seventh in La Liga but they have just over half of Barcelona’s absurd 58 points, a huge gap given that just over half the season has passed, so it’s no surprise that Barcelona are only 1/7 to beat the capital club tonight.

Barcelona have won a quite incredible 19 of their first 21 league games, including each of the last 15, scoring three or more in 12 of the last 13, so shouldn’t have too many problems against an Atletico side that have failed to impress against Spain’s top teams in 2010-11.

Los Colchoneros have triumphed in just one of their eight meetings with sides above them in the table – their first of the campaign at Athletic Bilbao – and they have lost six of the others.

Atletico’s last two trips to the Camp Nou have finished 6-1 and 5-2 in Barcelona’s favour so it’s clear that goals should be expected. Over 3.5 goals is 4/6 so for a slightly meatier price backing both teams to score at 4/5 may prove a shrewder option.

In terms of goalscorer betting, Lionel Messi is the obvious option but Pedro has scored 17 times in his last 19 appearances and delivered away to Hercules, meaning the 23-year-old is a tempting option at 10/3 to break the deadlock. 3-1 is the standout score option at 10/1.

Saturday’s earlier game pits third-from-top Villarreal against third-from-bottom Levante at 7pm and it’s another one that has been marked down as a home banker at 1/4, unsurprisingly as Villarreal have taken 31 of the 33 points available to them at El Madrigal.

Levante are rarely embarrassed though, facing each of the top six already without losing by more than one goal so look at the Villarreal -1 Handicap market and back the draw there at 3/1.

A £25 stake on Villarreal winning by one goal would provide a £75 profit. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
