Suarez has the track record to outscore Torres at 19/10

Luis Suarez averaged better than a goal every two games for Ajax this season and that could make him great value at 19/10 to score more goals than Fernando Torres this season.

Suarez scored seven league goals for Ajax in just 13 appearances during the current campaign, to go alongside the 35 he netted in 33 starts last season.

Meanwhile, the fact that he will be able to feed off the knock downs of fellow new recruit Andy Carroll and benefit from the slide rule passes of Steven Gerrard will mean that he should suffer from no shortage of chances.

Suarez is expected to be included in Liverpool’s squad for their next Premier League game at home to Stoke.

Liverpool’s betting odds are 4/7 to beat Stoke and their chances will also be boosted by the return of Jamie Carragher, who has been sidelined since dislocating his shoulder in November.

However, Liverpool fans will have to wait to see both of their new strikers in action as club record signing Carroll is still recovering from a thigh injury.

Carroll cost Liverpool £35m of the British transfer record of £50m that they received from Chelsea for Torres and will have the added pressure of replacing the Spaniard in wearing the famed number nine jersey.

It is 5/6 that Carroll copes quickly with the pressure and scores at least six Premier League goals this season and the same price that he does not make it to six goals.

Stoke are 5/1 in the Premier League betting odds and ruin Suarez’s expected home debut by winning at Anfield, while it is 11/4 that the game ends in a draw.

A £25 stake on Liverpool beating Stoke 3-0 would return £225. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
