PSV and Stuttgart to seal home wins to qualify in Europa League
PSV have never lost a home game in Europe under the management of Fred Rutten and they are 10/11 to win the second leg of their Europa League encounter with Lille.
The French table-toppers threw away a two-goal lead in the first leg and now are up against it if they want to reach the last 16 of the competition.
Lille are 11/4 in the Europa League betting to triumph in Holland and have not won any of their last eight European away fixtures.
However, they also have a manager with a solid European record as Lille have lost just once in Europe under the guidance of Rudi Garcia, which was in the group stages of this year’s competition against Sporting Lisbon.
PSV have secured victory in eight of their last ten home games and could be worth backing at 7/1 to beat Lille 2-1.
Elsewhere in the Europa League, Stuttgart are bidding to overturn a 2-1 first-leg deficit as they prepare to host Benfica.
And their prospects seem fairly strong as they won all three of their home fixtures during the group stages of this season’s competition, while they have lost none of their last seven on their own patch.
Furthermore, Benfica are still to taste victory after playing 18 times on German soil.
These facts make Stuttgart’s betting odds on the long side at 17/10, with Benfica 6/4 to ensure victories in both legs of their last-32 showdown.
The draw that would also see Benfica qualify to take on either BATE Borisov or Paris Saint Germain in the next round is priced at 12/5.
With Benfica failing to score in their three away games in the Champions League group stages this season, it may be worth a small investment on Stuttgart winning 2-0 at 9/1.
