Fixture list leaves West Ham staring at relegation

Punters looking at the run-ins of clubs in order to try to uncover which team in the Premier League betting to back to be relegated this season may find that West Ham represent the best value at 4/7.

With roughly a third of the season remaining, fans will now be analysing which teams their club still have to face and attempting to uncover how many points they are likely to have obtained before the close of the season.

Anyone in the bottom half of the table are still realistic contenders to face the drop, with Newcastle in tenth place only currently five points clear of the relegation places.

West Ham are second from bottom at present and looking at their remaining games they will have a tough time staying up, despite their squad being arguably stronger than the teams around them.

Avram Grant’s team still have away games against Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City to look forward to, while Manchester United and Liverpool still have to visit Upton Park.

Wolves may be three points from safety in the Premier League and currently bottom of the table, but their run-in is far easier.

It is 4/6 in the Premier League betting that Wolves are relegated and the common consensus is that 40 points is often seen to be enough to survive.

This leaves Wolves needing 16 points from their final 12 games, but in theory their survival is in their own hands as they face many of the teams around them in the standings and none of the so-called ‘Big Four’.

Blackpool are the other team with an interesting run-in, although a trip to Old Trafford on the final day of the season may be daunting if their status has not already been secured.

Ian Holloway’s team are 5/4 to go down and still also have Tottenham to play twice and home games against Arsenal and Chelsea.

A £25 stake on Newcastle being relegated would return £275. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
