Cup win means little for West Ham’s survival hopes

Earlier in the season West Ham dismantled Manchester United 4-0 in the Carling Cup and many people believed that this would be the start of their climb up the Premier League.
However, this never materialised and they ended up losing the two Premier League games that followed the Manchester United victory.
Almost three months have gone by since and West Ham are still in the relegation places, three points from safety.
West Ham’s betting odds are 4/7 to finish in the bottom three and they have two home games next that they may need to win if they want to avoid the drop.
