China 6/4 to be number one world economy before 2020
Published:China Is expected to have the world’s biggest economy before 2020 according to Ladbrokes.
The bookmaker has reacted to the news that the Chinese economy is now the second most powerful in the world by opening a special market on when it will hit the top with ‘Before 2020’ their 6/4 favourite.
It’s 7/4 it happens between 2020 and 2022 with the same price applying should China have to wait until after 2022 to be number one.
It’s also expected that the Chinese economy will conquer the world with a net value of over $25 trillion (6/4 favourite).
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We expect the Chinese economy to hit the top spot before the end of the decade with a value in excess of $25 trillion. Should their government fall behind with plans for economic expansion there’s a great opportunity to hedge with us but we’re not sure we’d like to lay a trillion dollar bet!”
