Chelsea out of title race after lacklustre display at Fulham

Before yesterday’s tie with Fulham, Chelsea were 13 points adrift of Manchester United and available at 10/1 to win the league.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are now 12/1 to win the Premier League with their title hopes fading fast following a poor draw at Craven Cottage last night leaving them 12 points points behind Man Utd.

“Now (12 points adrift) is too much,” said Ancelotti. “Obviously it’s very difficult to come back to fight for the title, but we have a very important aim to reach until the end with the FA Cup.”

Chelsea may be out of the Premier League race but they are still well involved in the Champions League and the FA Cup, and with a Champions League tie against Copenhagen coming up next week, Chelsea are in a strong position to advance to the quarter-final.

Ancelotti’s side are the 5/1 third favourites to win the Champions League, and the 9/2 third favourites to win the FA Cup – but they must overcome a fourth round replay with Everton on Saturday in a game they are 4/9 to win.

Should they overcome David Moyes’ side at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea face a home tie with Reading and that would be a game you would fully expect the Premier League champions to win.

They may be out of the title race but Chelsea still have plenty to play for this season and the performance of new boy David Luis last night suggests the Brazilian centre-back can spur his new team mates onto victory.

Man Utd are now the 4/9 favourites for the Premier League following Chelsea’s draw, and the Premier League winners betting market suggests it’s a two-horse race – although Arsenal are still pretty lengthy at 9/4.

A £25 stake on Chelsea winning the Champions League would return £150. New customers can sign up here for a free Premier League bet worth £25.
