The firm are yet to pay out punters who successfully backed a West Ham bid until the final approval but believe it’s a case of when and not if. At the last show West Ham were the odds-on (4/5) favourites leaving the bookies with a sizable five-figure liability.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The interest in this market has been huge and sadly for us the majority of bets were for West Ham. It looks like we’ll be paying out next week baring any mishaps and if punters fancy re-investing their winnings then West Ham to play their inaugural Stratford season as a Premier League club appears the obvious pick.”
