Bet on England to keep up their perfect start against France

Revenge has been talked of a lot in the build up to England’s toughest Six Nations task yet – facing France at Twickenham.

French coach Marc Lievremont stoked up the tensions ahead of the game by claiming that England were the most hated team in the championship.

England full-back Ben Foden is determined to build on their recent good form and avenge that narrow defeat in Paris a year ago as well as Lievremont’s comments.

Foden said: “I look back at the game as a milestone, really. It showed where we wanted to be, what we could do and what we could achieve.

“I’ve enjoyed the spice and all the things that were said in the media. It’s all good when people speak their minds. And we, as a team, are going to go out there and try to smash France. But I do have respect for them, they were Grand Slam winners last year and they play good rugby.”

However, England will have to win without captain Lewis Moody, whose knee injury is still preventing him from playing, although experienced loose-head Andrew Sheridan will be reinstalled in the starting line-up at the expense of Alex Corbisiero.

Sebastien Chabal will start for France who have been shown up defensively in recent games, after shipping five tries against Australia in the autumn and three each against Scotland and Ireland in their opening Six Nations games. With England smashing Italy, their confidence in the French third will be sky high and should see them come out on top.

The French will make Martin Johnson’s side work though, so backing England to win by 1-5 points at 4/1 looks well worth a bet.
