Barcelona to return to winning ways against Bilbao

Published:

Barcelona have showed a minor dip in form of late, drawing with Sporting Gijon and then losing to Arsenal in the Champions League, but back on their own patch they should have little trouble jumping back on the winning bandwagon against Athletic Bilbao.

It is 1/8 in the La Liga betting that Barcelona beat Athletic Bilbao, which would also ensure they remain at least five points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the standings.

Barcelona have also avoided defeat in their last nine league meetings with Bilbao and have lost just one of the last 18 clashes.

Another thing in Barcelona’s favour is that they have not gone without a win in back-to-back games in La Liga since May 2009.

Bilbao may have to be productive from set pieces if they want to trouble Barcelona and the good news for them is that their 16 goals from dead-ball situations is the highest in La Liga this season.

La Liga betting odds have Bilbao at 16/1 to beat Barcelona at the Nou Camp, with the draw priced at 15/2.

The other televised Sunday Spanish top-flight game sees Sevilla host a Hercules side who may have an opportunity to improve on their abysmal away form this season.

Hercules have won just one of their 12 games on the road, managing a combined three goals in the process.

However, Sevilla are not in the greatest form themselves as they have gone three fixtures without a victory.

The first goal could be crucial as Hercules are unbeaten in the two away games where they have scored first this season and it is 2/1 that they net the opener.

If this happens then Hercules could be a good bet at 5/1 to claim victory, with Sevilla priced at 4/7 and the draw available at 11/4.

A £25 stake on Barcelona beating Athletic Bilbao 3-0 would return £150. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
