The bookies are celebrating Birmingham City’s victory as Arsenal were well backed before kick off (cut to 8/15 from 4/9) and with the game poised at 1-1 Birmingham defied in-play odds of 16/1 to shock Arsenal and win the Carling Cup.
The Gunners’ best chance of silverware now appears to be the Premier League, which they are the 2/1 second favourites to win. It’s 12/1 they win the Champions League and 7/2 they lift the FA Cup, however, it’s odds-on (2/5) they fail to win a single trophy this season.
West Ham drift from 1/2 to 5/6 for relegation following their home victory over Liverpool, which sees Wigan cut to 1/3 from 2/5. West Brom (10/11 for the drop) travel to Stoke on Monday night and it’s 10/3 the Baggies prevail with 5/6 the price about a home win. The draw is 5/2.
