York and Peterborough hoping for fairytale upsets in FA Cup

Published:

York travel to Premier League opposition next for the biggest game of their season in the FA Cup.

Owen Coyle has transformed his Bolton side from a long-ball, relegation-threatened team into free-flowing top-six challengers and at home they should have no problem disposing of York and are 1/5 to win.

But this is the FA Cup and the scalp of Bolton would be the biggest story of the third round, which should provide the Reebok Stadium with a few extra nerves.

York are in a hot run of form having won five of their last seven matches and as unlikely as it seems, they may be worth backing at 12/1.

The two clubs have met four times in the FA Cup and Bolton have won twice – the second was via replay in the 1957/58 season – to York’s once.

Bolton will want to avoid a replay but York would love the extra finance that it would bring and a draw is priced at 11/2.

Fulham vs Peterborough

Mark Hughes hopes that Fulham’s 3-0 demolition of West Brom on has installed confidence in his side, and they will need it to beat League One high-flyers Peterborough.

Peterborough sit one place outside the play-off places with a game in hand and are 7/1 to beat Fulham.

But the Premier League side should be too strong and at 1/3 offer more value than Bolton, although one thing that is for sure is that goals should not be expected at Craven Cottage.

Fulham have scored just 14 goals in 11 home games this season, while Peterborough have managed just 13 on the road and under 2.5 goals is available at 1/1.

A 1-0 win for Fulham is priced at 6/1, but 2-0 is the favoured result at 5/1.

A £10 stake on York and Peterborough winning would return £1,040. New customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
