Wright-Phillips sure to continue scoring at Charlton

Bradley Wright-Phillips looks the best bet in the League One odds to finish as the division’s top scorer this season after completing his move from Plymouth to Charlton.

Wright-Phillips currently tops the scoring charts despite spending the first half of the season at relegation-threatened Plymouth and will surely benefit from a greater number of scoring opportunities he will receive at high-flying Charlton.

The 25-year-old has already scored 13 times in League One this season, but remarkably is still the sixth favourite to end the season as top scorer at 10/1.

Wright-Phillips will now hope to emulate the success of Sylvain Ebanks-Blake when he decided to leave Plymouth mid-way through the 2007/08 season.

Ebanks-Blake had enjoyed a fine start to the season in front of goal and left for fellow Championship side Wolves.

And he quickly settled at his new club to continue his scoring exploits and ended up finishing the campaign as the Championship’s top scorer.

Wright-Phillips has become Chris Powell’s first signing as Charlton boss and has penned an 18-month deal for an undisclosed fee.

Charlton currently sit in seventh spot in the standings, just outside of the play-off places, but given the tightness of the division they are still only eight points off of top spot with over 20 games still remaining.

League One odds have Charlton at 16/1 to win the title and they travel to Rochdale next with the hope of taking closer order at the top.

Charlton are 6/4 to beat Rochdale in what will be the first league meeting between the pair since 1974.

Rochdale are 11/8 to take the three points, which would also see them leapfrog Charlton in the League One standings.

A £25 stake on Bradley Wright-Phillips finishing League One top scorer this season would return £250. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
