United harden for title as rivals City drift

Published:

Manchester United are now 4/6 for the title with Ladbrokes following their 5-0 thrashing of Birmingham City today.

Arsenal (5/2) move into second as they beat Wigan at the Emirates with City the main losers in the race for the league today falling to third and drifting from 8/1 to 9/1.

Chelsea are also 9/1 with a trip to Bolton on Monday night their next fixture.

Avram Grant is now odds-against (6/5) in the ‘next manager to leave’ market after his West Ham side put in a spirited performance to draw at Everton, leaving Steve Bruce the 5/1 second favourite.

Mick McCarthy is now 14/1 after Wolves lost at home to Liverpool.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Manchester United laid down the gauntlet to their premiership rivals today by routing Birmingham and they now shorten for the title. City are on the drift and another result like this may see it develop into a two horse race between United & Arsenal.”
