| 18.01.2011

It is no secret that Jose Mourinho desperate wants to bring a new striker to Real Madrid and the wise money could be on a deal being struck with Manchester City for the services of Carlos Tevez.

Tevez’ betting odds are 12/1 that he moves to Real Madrid in the January transfer window and speculation is rife that Mourinho is putting together a bid worth £33m for the current joint Premier League top goalscorer.

It is believed that Real Madrid want to take Tevez on loan for the remainder of the season and then offer the money in the summer.

The fact that Manchester City recently signed Edin Dzeko from Wolfsburg could also be said to be business that was completed to prepare for the likely sale of Tevez.

Real Madrid’s need for a striker has materialised as Gonzalo Higuain is unlikely to feature again this season and Mourinho is not a fan of Karim Benzema.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy was said to be the leading target of Mourinho and he is 8/1 in the football betting odds to return to the Bernabeu for a second stint at Real Madrid.

However, Hamburg director of sport Bastian Reinhardt has stood firm on his view that Van Nistelrooy will remain with the club until the duration of his contract.

Tevez’ Manchester City teammate Emmanuel Adebayor is the leader in the betting to arrive at Real Madrid in January at 9/4.

Miroslav Klose has also seen his first-team opportunities limited at Bayern Munich behind Thomas Mueller and Mario Gomez and he is 9/2 to be a Real Madrid player by the end of the month.

Other names linked with a move to the Bernabeu include Hugo Almeida, Adam Szalai and Sevilla’s Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano.

A £25 stake on Real Madrid signing Luis Fabiano in January would return £150. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
