Tangerines triumph and see relegation odds lengthen to 7/2

Could it be that the side who were 1/4 to be relegated at the start of the season are going to avoid the drop?

Ian Holloway has done wonders with his Blackpool side in the Premier League this season and after their win against Liverpool last week, their relegation betting odds have been lengthened out to 7/2.

With 28 points from their opening 20 games, the Tangerines need just 12 points from their remaining 18 games to hit the magical 40 point mark.

Whether it’s home or away, Blackpool are a danger for any team in the division but a quick look at their fixture list suggests home games with West Ham, Wigan Athletic and Stoke City can provide Blackpool with nine of those 12 points needed.

Holloway’s side travel to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday in a crunch game that will have a huge bearing on the relegation zone and the Tangerines are 11/4 to beat West Brom.

Blackpool took the three points at Bloomfield Road earlier in the season but West Brom managed the double over Blackpool in the Championship last season and are 8/11 in the West Brom vs Blackpool betting.

It may be that West Brom take the three points on Saturday but Ian Holloway knows he has enough strength in his squad to gain those 12 points that should see them survive and punters can rule Blackpool out of a relegation fight.

With that in mind, the main candidates for relegation according to the relegation betting odds are West Ham (4/6), Wolves (4/5), Wigan (4/5) West Brom (5/2) Aston Villa (5/2) and Birmingham (3/1).

Of the relegation odds, Wolves look the pick of the market at 4/5 and Mick McCarthy’s side offer punters plenty of value in the relegation betting market.

A £25 stake on Blackpool beating West Brom would return £93.75. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
