Oscars Betting Odds

It’s the pinnacle of any actors career and according to the betting market, Colin Firth can start penning his acceptance speech now.

The Oscars is the highlight of the film calendar and over the course of a few hours on February 27th, heroes and heroines will be crowned and history will be made.

One man that seems destined for an Academy Award is the star of ‘The King’s Speech’ Colin Firth who is 1/4 in the Best Actor betting to win the award.

The Oscars betting is always competitive and while Firth seems to have the Best Actor category sown up, he will face competition from ‘The Social Network’ star Jesse Esienburg (8/1), James Franco for his role in ‘127 Hours’ (8/1) and Robert Duval in ‘Get Low’ (16/1).

‘The King’s Speech’ is also hotly tipped in the Best Film category in the Academy Awards betting but is the second favourite in the Oscars betting with Academy Award odds of 2/1.

The biopic of facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, ‘The Social Network’, is the 4/6 favourite in the Oscars betting to lift the statuette in the Best Film category although there are plenty of other films in the running.

Natalie Portman is the odds-on 2/1 favourite to pick up the award for Best Actress for her role in ‘Black Swan’ although Annette Benning has hopes of taking home a statuette and is 11/4 in the Best Actress betting.

Rumours that Tom and Katie Cruise will snub the prestigious awards following a skit involving the ‘Love and Other Drugs’ star Anne Hathaway impersonating Katie on Saturday Night Live seem to be untrue.

Hathaway is also a contender in the Best Actress betting for her role in ‘Love and Other Drugs’ but her Oscar odds of 25/1 make her an outsider in the betting.

Currently Ladbrokes are offering odds on six different categories in the Oscars betting. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
