Man Utd 8/13 to win title after defining point of season

Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United’s comeback against Blackpool could prove the defining point of their season and the first big step towards winning the Premier League title.

Manchester United’s betting odds are 8/13 to win the Premier League after they came back from two goals down at half-time to win away at Blackpool 3-2.

The result not only ensured that the Red Devils retained their unbeaten league record this season, but may also have provided some added confidence to the squad on what can be achieved when the chips are down.

Ferguson said: “We were in the mire in the first half but this is a result industry and we got a result which may have a big impact on the league at the end of the season.

“It has told every one of my players they can achieve a lot if we can play to our best.”

Dimitar Berbatov’s winner two minutes from time is not the first occasion this season that Manchester United have claimed maximum points from a league game in the dying stages.

It is said that it is the stuff of champions to win games approaching the final whistle and Manchester United have already struck a winner in the final ten minutes of matches on four occasions this season, turning four points into 12.

Meanwhile, they scored twice in the closing ten minutes away at Aston Villa to salvage an unlikely draw.

Arsenal currently lead the chasing pack in the Premier League standings, but still have five points to make up on Manchester United.

Premier League odds have Arsenal at 5/2 to win the title, with Chelsea the next best in the market at 7/1.
