Liverpool’s Hodgson 4/6 to be next boss gone after Blackburn loss

There have been calls that Roy Hodgson’s brief spell as Liverpool manager should have been over weeks ago, but the latest in a line of hapless displays against Blackburn may finally bring to an end his demanding reign.

Hodgson is the hefty favourite at 4/6 in the next Premier League manager to be sacked betting market and reports suggest that the club’s owners are currently in talks about whether this makes the most sense with the transfer window still open.

The defeat at Blackburn was Liverpool’s ninth of the season to date and they are just four points above the relegation places at present, despite whispers that they were potential challengers for the Champions League places at the start of the campaign.

However, although it is likely that Hodgson may depart soon, there are some other managers seemingly on the cusp of being sacked who may lose their jobs first.

Carlo Ancelotti is on a woeful streak at Chelsea, with one win in nine Premier League games seeing them dramatically blow an advantage at the top of the standings to now sit outside of the Champions League qualification places.

Ancelotti is 4/1 to be the next top flight manager to go and Roman Abramovich will surely be considering who is the best option to get Chelsea’s title challenge back on track.

Avram Grant seemed on the verge of the sack at West Ham after a 3-0 defeat at Liverpool towards the end of November, but he appeared to turn a corner after three wins in seven games lifted them off the foot of the table and temporarily out of the bottom three.

But a heavy 5-0 defeat at Newcastle may have swayed opinions again and Grant is 3/1 to be the next Premier League boss to lose his job.

A £10 bet on Aston Villa’s Gerard Houllier being sacked next could lead to a return of £70. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
