ONE LUCKY Ladbrokes punter has got off to a fantastic start in 2011 after he won a record £272k from a £2.50 nine team accumulator.

The money won breaks all previous records and it ranks as the firm’s biggest ever payout for a multiple bet.

The mystery Berkshire based punter correctly predicted nine results from Wednesday night’s action including shock wins for Wolves and Blackburn. His successful predictions also included Spanish Copa Del Rey ties with the goal sealing the money scored by Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente in the 85th minute to salvage a draw at home to Barcelona.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We’d like to congratulate our customer for pulling off what is one of the hardest feats in betting. We expect the champagne corks are popping in Berkshire tonight as they celebrate the biggest football win of all time and raise a glass to Llorente.”

And Britain’s best football punter has given his selections for this weekend in an attempt to do it all again:
