Colin Firth’s superb awards run looks set to continue according to Ladbrokes.

His odds of winning a BAFTA for Best Actor for his role in the King’s Speech are a record short price of 1/25.

It’s 13/8 The King’s Speech wins ‘Best Film’ behind 4/6 favourite The Social Network.

Christian Bale is also odds-on (1/2) to be rewarded for his supporting role in ‘The Fighter’ with Geoffrey Rush the 9/4 second favourite.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Colin Firth now looks like the biggest certainty in the history of awards betting. His lead in The King’s Speech has taken the world by storm and hit us hard as punters look for any opportunity to back him- we’d probably see money for him if we quoted him for next Prime Minister!”
