Betting market hots up for Caan’s Dragons Den replacement

Published:

JAMES CAAN has left the Dragons Den prompting bookies Ladbrokes to start taking bets on the identity of his replacement.

The rumours coming out of Television Centre suggest the new Dragon will be female and the current joint favourites at 5/1 are underwear tycoon Michelle Mone and Ann Summers entrepreneur Jacqueline Gold.

With the short-list reading a who’s-who of British business success no candidate can be ruled out and popular Den victor Levi Roots is a 50/1 chance to turn the tables and consider investments. Inventor James Dyson is the shortest priced male at 8/1 with rival budget airline bosses Stelios & Michael O’Leary both 33/1 chances.

Ladbrokes also expect the new Dragon to keep their powder dry until the third episode and don’t envisage them breaking the current record for level of investment in their first series. Suggesting that the new member of the Den may have a gentle introduction to life as a Dragon.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “In opening this book we could be the first to hear any news. If a large cash bet is registered in our Shepherds Bush shop alarm bells will surely start to ring.”
