Bet on Mark Allen vs Marcu Fu – Allen to make first final

Published:

Mark Allen has already caused two shocks on his way to a first ever semi-final appearance at the Ladbrokes Mobile Masters and he is a good betting proposition to continue his progression through the tournament by beating Marco Fu next.

Match Odds

Upsets have been commonplace at this year’s tournament at Wembley as none of the top eight seeds from the 16-man starting field are still standing at the semi-final stage.

Allen has been largely responsible for this as he dumped out Ronnie O’Sullivan in the opening round and then took the notable scalp of reigning world champion Neil Robertson.

These victories show the current level of Allen’s form and this makes him the worthy favourite at 8/15 in the snooker betting odds to reach the final of the Masters for the first time by beating Fu.

Meanwhile, Allen has won both of his previous two career meetings with Fu.

However, the Northern Irishman has tended to suffer from the semi-final jitters as he has never made it past the last-four in any of snooker’s major tournaments in five previous attempts.

Fu was impressive in his whitewash of Peter Ebdon in his quarter-final match and this game arguably saw him produce his best snooker in a while.

A repeat of this display will see him push Allen close, with Fu given odds of 11/8 to beat Allen.

First Four Frame Score

Perhaps the key for both players making it to this stage of the tournament is that they have never been behind at the end of the opening four-frame session in either of their matches.

Fu has led at this point in both of his games and therefore may be worth backing at 10/3 to lead 3-1 after four frames.

It is 15/8 in the Ladbrokes Mobile Masters betting that Allen leads 3-1, but the best option could be the 6/4 that the pair are locked at 2-2.

A £25 bet on Allen beating Fu 6-3 could see a return of £125. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
