Tevez and Dzeko pairing interesting Manchester City and Chelsea
Published:There is a strong possibility that Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko could become the most deadly strike force in the Premier League in January, but for which club remains to be seen.
Chelsea and Manchester City are both keen to add more firepower to their attacks to boost their title winning credentials and speculation is rife that the pairing could be seen at either club in the coming weeks.
Some quarters are suggesting that Chelsea are readying a £70 million double swoop for the pair as they look to defy odds of 2/1 in the Premier League betting odds to win the title.
Tevez’ future at Manchester City looks up in the air after he handed in a written transfer request, while he is also expected to be stripped of the captaincy.
Meanwhile, Dzeko is constantly linked with a move away from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg and potentially could leave Germany for any of Europe’s biggest sides.
The move could be good for Chelsea as they have managed just four goals in their last seven Premier League games and they could benefit from some alternate options to Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka in attack.
However, despite Tevez’ apparent desire to leave Manchester City, it seems that they still want to retain his services.
Tevez has ten league goals this season and this is a key part of the reason why Manchester City’s betting odds are 7/1 to win the Premier League title.
And they could boost their chances further by adding Bosnian Dzeko to their squad to challenge the likes of Mario Balotelli and Emmanuel Adebayor for the role alongside Tevez in attack.
It is also rumoured that Dzeko has made a written plea to join up with Manchester City and there is a possibility that Roque Santa Cruz could head to Wolfsburg as part of such a deal.
