Rubin vs Barcelona: Visitors need another Nou Camp success

Published:

Rubin Kazan have made a habit of getting results against Barcelona in recent seasons, but nothing less than three points will be enough at the Nou Camp this time if they want to remain in the Champions League.

The Russians are unbeaten in three games against Barcelona and they even picked up a shock 2-1 victory in Spain in the group stages of the Champions League last season.

It is 11/2 in the Champions League betting odds that Rubin beat Barcelona again, while a repeat of the same correct scoreline is 20/1.

Barcelona may have already qualified from Group D as group winners, but they will want to maintain their 100 per cent winning home record in the competition and are 4/9 to beat Rubin.

Scoring goals was always going to be tough for Rubin at the Nou Camp, but they are unlikely to be helped by the fact that their only two goals in Group D this season have both come from the penalty spot.

Copenhagen are currently a point ahead of Rubin in the battle for the second qualification spot in the Champions League knockout stages and know that a home victory over Panathinaikos will send them through regardless of the result in Spain.

The Danish champions have not lost in the group at home to either Barcelona or Rubin and it is unlikely that Panathinaikos will claim maximum points, particularly as they have nothing to play for.

Panathinaikos, already guaranteed to finish bottom of Group D, are 6/1 to beat Copenhagen, while the hosts are 4/9 to secure victory in the Champions League betting market.

Copenhagen may also fancy their chances bearing in mind they won the corresponding fixture in Greece 2-0.

A £10 bet on the double of Barcelona and Copenhagen both winning their games 3-0 could ensure a payout of £810. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
