New Years Day provides intriguing match-ups in the Championship
With four of the top six in the Championship facing each other on New Years Day, it could be all change in the race for automatic promotion.
Seven points clear at the top of the league, Queens Park Rangers are the odds on favourites for the Championship title but may be pegged back slightly by Norwich, 8/5 to beat QPR on Saturday.
The two played out a boring 0-0 draw at Loftus Road earlier in the season but considering Norwich have managed 23 goals at home this season, a repeat of that score line is unlikely and over 2.5 goals is available at 1/1.
Swansea City vs Reading
Despite traveling to Swansea, Reading have the chance to close the six-point gap on the Swans considering they have won just two of their last seven games, and the Royals are a decent price at 23/10 to win.
Reading are unbeaten in their last eight, although seven of those have finished in draws and it could be that the shares are spoiled at the Liberty Stadium and the draw is priced at 23/10.
1/1 is the favoured result in this game and is priced at 11/2, but a 0-0 draw looks the best bet at 8/1.
Cardiff City vs Bristol City
It’s a rivalry that’s as fierce as the Merseyside derby and the Manchester derby and it could be just the tonic that sees Cardiff emerge from their current slump.
Just one win from their last six has seen Cardiff lose pace with QPR but Dave Jones’ men are 7/5 to beat Bristol and look the pick of the Championship betting market considering they are unbeaten in eight against the Robins.
Bristol are 15/8 to win but even with Cardiff’s poor run of form, that seems unlikely.
A £10 treble on Norwich, Reading and Cardiff all winning would return £205.90. New customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
