Lewis to complete 2010 hat-trick of victories over Thornton

Adrian Lewis has already beaten Robert Thornton twice in 2010 and he is available at 1/3 to complete the treble and secure victory in the third round of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.

Lewis was a convincing 6-1 victor in the group stages of the Championship League Darts event in September, while he also edged a much tighter quarter final in March.

Thornton has triumphed in two of his eight meetings with Lewis and will bring plenty of confidence to the oche after seeing off Andy Hamilton 4-0 in his second round encounter.

He is 9/4 to beat Lewis.

However, the scoreline would have been much tighter had Hamilton been more lethal on his doubles, which means that Thornton will need to step up his game if he wants to get the better of Lewis.

Lewis hit more 180s than Thornton in their second-round games and it is 3/10 that he does so again in their battle, while the 11/4 in the darts betting that Lewis wins through 4-2 could be good value.

Another of the afternoon third round matches pits Terry Jenkins against Mark Walsh.

Jenkins has only once made the quarter finals of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship and he could do so again with a victory over Walsh, for which he is the 1/2 favourite to progress.

However, it is Walsh that holds the initiative in the head-to-head record between the pair with six victories from their nine encounters.

He is 6/4 in the darts betting to reach the last eight, but may find a rejuvenated Jenkins a tough nut to crack.

Jenkins has rediscovered his love of darts of late and the extra work he has put in was visible when overcoming a potential banana skin in Steve Brown in the second round.

The 7/2 offered on Jenkins winning 4-1 looks a decent price, while Walsh fans may fancy their man to sneak through 4-3, which can be backed at 9/2.

A £10 stake on Walsh beating Jenkins 4-1 would return £120. New customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
