Hughton Leaps into Sack Race Lead
Published:Newcastle manager Chris Hughton is now 4/5 favourite to get the sack before any other Premier League boss according to Ladbrokes.
Despite the fact Newcastle remain a respectable 11th in the table, money has been flooding in on Hughton to leave since his side lost to the Baggies yesterday.
Carlo Ancelotti also leapt into third place in the sack race after taking Chelsea on their worst run for a decade. The Blues boss is 7/1 to lose his job, whilst Avram Grant is in second place at 7/4.
Mick McCarthy (8/1) and Roy Hodgson (10/1) make up the top five.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We have been inundated with bets all backing Hughton to leave Newcastle since the final whistle yesterday. So much so that Hughton is now the favourite in the Premier league sack race leapfrogging Avram Grant.”
