Free-scoring Barcelona can sweep aside everyone this season

Barcelona’s brilliant season continued yesterday thanks to an imperious 5-0 win against Real Sociedad.

Lionel Messi was once again at the centre of the action, scoring two goals to take his total for the season to 17 in 15 La Liga games – exactly the same as Real rival Cristiano Ronaldo.

Barcelona have now scored an impressive 46 goals in their 15 league games so far this term, making them big 4/7 favourites to retain their La Liga crown.

They have now scored six goals more than at the same stage last season and should add to that total against Espanyol next weekend, after the 4th placed Spanish side lost to Athletic Bilbao at the weekend.

Messi hasn’t been the only one firing in the goals for the Catalan giants. Summer signing David Villa has hit nine in 15 game – still a brilliant return – while Andrés Iniesta and Pedro both have two apiece.

Barca have averaged an impressive 3.07 goals in La Liga and have averaged just over two goals in the Champions League – still a formidable total.

Barca have scored at least one goal in their last 14 European games and are currently the 2/1 favourites to regain the title they last won in 2009.

They find out who they have in the next round when the draw is made on Friday, but whoever they face – based on their current form – they will be massive favourites going into the game.

Backing the unstoppable looking Barcelona to clean up this season could yield a very tidy sum.
