France new favourites for Davis Cup after stunning fightback

Published:

A remarkable fightback from Arnaud Clement and Michael Llodra in their doubles match with Viktor Troicki and Nenad Zimonjic mean France have been cut to 4/6 from 13/8 to win the Davis Cup.

At 4/9 entering the doubles match, Serbia are now 11/10 to win the Davis Cup in a remarkable turnaround and it’s now up to Novak Djokovic and Janko Tipsarevic if Serbia are to win in front of their home crowd.

Novak Djokovic vs Gael Monfils

The crunch tie of the Davis Cup, Djokovic must beat the in-form Monfils if his country is to stand any chance of winning the Davis Cup.

Considering Monfils has never beaten Djokovic, the Serbian team can be confident of heading into the final match level with the French – Djokovic is 1/6 to beat Monfils.

But only once has Djokovic beaten Mofils in straight sets, earlier this year in the US Open, and the other four matches between the two have gone the distance.

A 3-2 win for DJokovic is priced at 6/1 and looks the value of the market.

Viktor Troicki vs Michael Llodra

Should Djokovic beat Monfils, all the pressure will transfer to Troicki who will be handed the task of wining the Davis Cup for his country.

The two Davis Cup captains kept everyone guessing up until the start of the final rubber and France now hold the edge after Llodra’s incredible comeback in the double singles on Saturdays.

But with a 16,000 strong Serbian crowd behind Troicki, it’s not going to be easy for Llodra and the Serbain crowd are in for a thrilling finale.
