Former Serie A boss Spalletti tips Juventus to land title

Luciano Spalletti believes that Juventus are serious contenders to win Serie A this season and therefore they could be overpriced at 5/1 in this betting odds market.

Things are looking bright for Juventus at present as they enjoy the longest unbeaten stretch in Serie A at 11 games and became the first team to win away to Catania in 2010 in their last outing.

Furthermore, they have scored more goals than any other team in Serie A this season, netting 29 times in their 15 fixtures under the guidance of Luigi Del Neri.

These statistics have helped Juventus reach third in the Serie A standings, six points behind pace setters AC Milan, and Spalletti, who is now in charge at Russian champions Zenit St Petersberg, believes they will only get better as the season continues.

He told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Juve are growing game by game. They are becoming aware of their own strength. De Neri’s team can win the Scudetto.”

Juventus could further enhance their title credentials in their next Serie A outing, which comes at home to second-placed Lazio.

A victory for the Old Lady would see them climb above Lazio on goal difference, but continuing their hot scoring streak could be tricky as the visitors have conceded just five times in their seven outings on the road.

In Juventus’ favour is that they have avoided defeat in their last six home meetings with Lazio and have not lost to the opposition in Serie A in a total of 11 matches.

Meanwhile, Del Neri also took four points off Lazio in Serie A last season when he was in charge of Sampdoria.
