Palermo can shade high-scoring clash with Sparta Prague

Although it is Palermo that have been shipping goals in Group F of the Europa League and Sparta Prague who have been scoring them, there is every chance that the Italian hosts will edge a high-scoring affair to keep alive their chances of reaching the knockout stages of the competition.

Palermo have to win if they harbour any hopes of progressing, while anything other than a defeat will ensure that Sparta Prague join CSKA Moscow in the last 32 of the Europa League from Group G.

Delio Rossi’s team are 4/6 to take the three points and may be supported by the fact that visitors have not won any of their nine previous trips to Italy.

However, Sparta do have Wilfried Bony in their ranks, who has already scored five times in the group stages of the Europa League and is 7/1 to open the scoring against Palermo.

Perhaps the game’s best betting opportunity is the 9/10 offered on more than 2.5 goals being scored, as Palermo have conceded three in each of their last two group games.

Meanwhile, Sparta Prague have scored three times in three of their four Group F encounters, including in their 3-2 win over Palermo earlier in the group in the Czech Republic.

The other Group F game is virtually a non-contest as CSKA have already qualified and Lausanne are definitely out.

A win would guarantee top spot for CSKA and they are 1/6 to beat Lausanne and make it seven European victories in succession this season.

CSKA have scored ten of their 12 goals in the group so far in the second half, meaning that a decent betting opportunity may be the 7/2 available on the game being level at half-time with CSKA leading at full-time.

A £10 bet on CSKA beating Lausanne 3-0 could seal a return of £60. New Ladbrokes customers can sign up here for a free £10 bet.
