Cricket World Cup betting odds

| 02.12.2010

The Ashes may be grabbing all the headlines at the moment, but the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup is just a couple of months away.

Reigning champions Australia head into the tournament as joint favourites in the cricket betting odds to win the event for the fourth time in a row at 4/1.

However, after their less than inspiring showing so far in the Ashes, backing another team to upset the cricket odds could be worth considering.

The Aussies are joined as favourites in the cricket world cup betting by India and Sri Lanka who are also 4/1 to win the event which takes place in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh from February to April.

Next in the Cricket World Cup betting are England. The English have cricket odds of 5/1 and could certainly be worth backing to win the event for the first time in its 26 year history.

England are already upsetting the cricket odds by holding Australia in their own back yard – thanks to some brilliant batting displays from Alistair Cook and Kevin Pietersen. The England cricket team could certainly carry on that form into the cricket world cup if the likes of James Anderson and Graeme Swann keep up their good form.

If you like your cricket betting odds a little longer then you can back South Africa to win the ICC Cricket World Cup at 6/1 or Sri Lanka at even longer odds of 8/1.

Not happy with those cricket odds? Then why not put some cash on New Zealand to upset massive cricket odds of 50/1 to win the Cricket World Cup.
