BBC to apologise for Panorama drama?

| 03.12.2010

THE BBC are 10/1 with Ladbrokes to issue an official apology before the end of 2010 regarding the impact of Panorama on the unsuccessful World Cup bid.

Russia’s successful bid hinged upon the creation of several new stadiums and they are 10/1 to not be fully completed by the time the tournament starts.

There are also concerns attached to the soaring temperatures at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar which is set to be the hottest ever. It’s just 6/1 that a player faints during any game at the finals due to excessive heat.

Qatar have never qualified for a World Cup and are 14/1 to qualify for either the 2014 or 2018 finals.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The finger of blame has been pointed at the media and an official apology could be an attempt at healing the wound. The Qatar FA will be buoyed by the confirmation of 2022 and it should be a shot in the arm for the players.”
